Yes. The search reads your title, description, category and tags together, so a tag is another phrase that can match what somebody types.
This is where a restaurant wins: tag the dishes by name. Somebody searching “mantu” finds you only if the word appears somewhere on your listing.
What the search reads
- The listing title
- The description
- The category
- The tags
- Your services and menu items
- Your events
Tags are the cheapest of these to add and the easiest to get right, because you are simply writing down the words a customer would use.
One tag per idea, comma separated. “halal, delivery, late night” rather than one long phrase.
