A claim should come from whoever runs the business now.
If you have sold it, the new owner should claim it. If you bought it, claim it and say in the form that the business changed hands, with the date — that explains why your details do not match what is on the listing.
If you sold the business
Do not claim it. Tell the new owner to claim it, and if the listing is already on your account, open a support ticket to have it transferred.
If you bought the business
- Claim the listing.
- In the form, say the business changed hands and give the date.
- Expect to show something connecting you to it — a business email address, or the phone number already on the listing.
Saying the business changed hands up front prevents a rejection for details that do not match.
