What works

  • Daylight, taken on an ordinary phone, of the real place.
  • The shopfront as it looks from the street, so people recognise it when they arrive.
  • Your best-selling product or dish, close up.
  • The inside, so somebody knows whether it suits them.
  • Your team. People trust faces.

What to avoid

  • Stock photography — recognisable and it costs you trust
  • Text, logos or price badges across the image
  • Dark, blurred or heavily filtered shots
  • Screenshots of other websites
